Third Legacy House Assignment

I finished the 3rd and 4th Assignment for The Legacy House a few weeks ago and have culled through the third set and processed these.

The theme that these photos was shot to fill is...

"Sometimes the signs of violence are so obvious.... You just have to be willing to look them in the eye."

As with all my blog photos, feel free to click on the photos to see them larger.

Thanks for looking!

Golf... it's a passion.

A lot of people know that I love to golf. Some people joke that golfing is a good walk wasted while some say that a bad day golfing is better than a good day at work. I declare, why not combine the two?

I golf with Rick and Rick and decided to bring my camera this past time to Royal Hylands out in Knightstown. After shooting the day fairly limited, I thought to myself, "self, you could have such a good time doing PGA type photography for the average joe golfer that wants to decorate his den or have a book of a day of golf out with his buddies that he can put on the coffee table and brag on for years to come." What a cool thing to have, right?! I know I'd love it, so how about you? Then I thought, why just limit this to golf? There's so many activities that people are passionate about, what if they wanted the same snapshot of their life produced at the highest level possible?

So, are you an active person? A golfer, tennis enthusiast, dancer, soccer player, master griller/hostess with the mostess? If so and you'd love to have pics that should/could be in publication you should give me a buzz.

I thrive on lifestyle photography. Bringing the everyday magic and capturing moments that are timeless and cherished.
Ask me what I offer and I'll tell you!

Road Trip

I've been back from my road trip for a couple weeks and like life, things just pass. I wanted to get my trip pics up long ago, but finally I've found a bit of time to get them processed and posted.

I had such a good time exploring the Western side of Indiana from Shades State Park up to Lake Michigan, South Bend, the farmland betwixt Indy and all other points.

I had the pleasure of playing a round of Golf @ Rock Hollow Golf Course in Peru and enjoyed the course and the beauty of it as you'll see. I'll probably continue to put more photos as I find time. I couldn't help but take lots of photos as that was pretty much my goal and in the process discovered Alamo Indiana, Nevada Indiana and of course Peru. All such fun names aren't they! Kokomo was cool to see, however, of course the Beach Boys got it all wrong, but that's the oldest joke in the book and I won't go there any further, but I had a great time and enjoyed my time thoroughly.

I hope you enjoy the photos and if you want to see them larger, just click on them and take a closer look!

Thanks for checking up on what I'm doing!

Legacy House Assignment

Over the past couple years I've had the opportunity to offer my services for a few non-profit organizations in Indy. One of my favorites is the Legacy House which is a free victims of violence service that provides an all encompassing service to all victims of violence, both men and women which is a very unique service in Indy.

I have created a few photographic pieces including last year's annual report and was hired this season to create 6 themed images which help put a face and idea to who really is affected by violence and abuse.

My first couple sets were done with an amazing young man, Devin Large. Devin, as you see has a great look and can really take directions well. I am so very very pleased to show off these images and OH, I did something I haven't done in years for a job, I took pics with film! I know Iknow, just for fun, I can't wait to see how they come out. But here's a good look at my favorite bakers dozen so far.

Stay tuned....

Looking Better Online

I had the opportunity to photograph Larry Weiland today. Larry found me through my affiliation with IndyLock&Key's event at Sub-Terra Lounge this weekend.
I always am flattered when people go out of their way to find me and I'm especially glad when a professional guy thinks outside the dots a little to help himself get better results in his online pursuit of a great friend and relationship.

After having photographed about 6000 singles in Indy, I guess I'm really, "the guy" to help you look better online. A picture's worth at least a thousand words. The strategy for men doing online dating need to put their best foot forward and project the look they want and do it authentically. For women, it's just simple. Men are visual creatures, so look as good as you can so men will click on your profile.

If you want more info. on what's included in my "look better online" package, email me at diehlphotographicarts@gmail.com

My New Toy

I found this 7x magnifier for $30 and had to buy it. Who knows what kind of applications it will have in my business, but the very idea of having a 20x30 inch magnifier seems kind of cool and absurd. It weighs like 25 lbs and is awkward. I'm going to have to wear steel toed boots to maneuver, but I'm thinking seriously about using this for some of my Legacy House ad shots coming up soon. Who's this Brian guy?

My photo
I'm one of the few people from Wyoming in the midwest. Born and bred, by default I'm a cowboy, through life though I guess I've kept the wanderlust and taken it urban. Having lived in 11 states now, I feel safe to say that I've found home in Indy. I'd never have dreamed I'd live here but 5 years later, I have no complaints! I've been a "lifestyle" photographer for quite a while. Cutting my teeth in landscape photography and photojournalism out West I've developed a style that focuses on simplicity, beauty and life lived well.
