Baby Judah...

Yesterday I had the pleasure and honor to photograph my good friends, Kylie and Jake Baird's son, Judah, born 12 days ago.

I've never done a newborn session before and I'm sure I've got a lot to learn, but what I do know is that I was very lucky with having this child as my first. I've heard stories of newborn sessions taking several hours, possibly multiple days because the baby was always crying or uncooperative. With 3 changes, a couple diaper changes and a couple feeding sessions in the mix yesterday, I was able to get some amazing photos in just a couple hours and I'm very pleased and thankful which, by the way is what Judah means.

I hope you enjoy the photos and a special thank you to Brandy Profancik for loaning me the sleigh. It was the perfect prop for baby Judah. Click on them to see them larger if you'd like.

Those are precious... We were lucky with our first child's newborn session, but we're still trying to get a good photo session in with our second (who is three years old now!)

Who's this Brian guy?

My photo
I'm one of the few people from Wyoming in the midwest. Born and bred, by default I'm a cowboy, through life though I guess I've kept the wanderlust and taken it urban. Having lived in 11 states now, I feel safe to say that I've found home in Indy. I'd never have dreamed I'd live here but 5 years later, I have no complaints! I've been a "lifestyle" photographer for quite a while. Cutting my teeth in landscape photography and photojournalism out West I've developed a style that focuses on simplicity, beauty and life lived well.
